What is an Apartment in this context?
A 2 Bedroom with at least 4 pax or any room type that can accommodate 5 pax or more are considered Apartment.
This article covers topics on how to load Apartments with or witout child rate, and what service category should be assigned.
- If Apartment is offered and child rates are offered, please load as Accommodation (service category).
Tick "Others" under Room Policy, if the apartment accommodates more than 5 pax and child rate is applicable.
Scenarios when to do this:
a. With child rates as per contract - Tick “Others”, input max occupancy and add load extra person rates under “ADDITIONAL ADULT” and child rates under, CHILD rate grid.
b. Increase in Occupancy, 1 adult only - Existing Service Line currently loaded as Accom with 4 pax and occupancy increased to 5 pax (current and next season). Tick “Others”, input max occupancy and add load extra person rates under “ADDITIONAL ADULT”.
c. Existing Service line is Apartment but child rates are provided --- Create NEW service line.
But if there’s no bookings under Used In, you may just update service category to Accommodation and update room policy.
d. New Product, if there’s child rate provided
e. 2 Bedroom, Max 4 adults or 2 Adults + 2 Children. Child rate is provided.
Brief Background: Before we load Apartments starting from 2 Bedroom with maximum occupancy of 4 pax as Apartment and count child as adult regardless if there’s rate provided for them. Now the system can properly compute rates for adults + child using the “Others”.
NOTES: If creating new service line for a room type from Apartment to Accommocation, please make sure to check/update the following:Add Enquiry note to the old service line why it was moved to another service line.
Add on comment field "Please use (new option code)" on the old service line.
Untick agent internet access of the old service line
Close current season rates of the old service line, since you might have moved the current season rates to the new service line.
Make sure to delete old dates on the new service line.
Make sure you update current season rates with the child and additional adult rate.

Adult Rate only, children are considered adults - Still use APARTMENT as service category.
Scenarios when to do this:
a. Increase in Occupancy of more than 5 pax – adult rates only. Create new service line so product can be tagged as Apartment from Accommodation.
b. New Product, adult rates only. Starting from 2 Bedroom with minimum 4 pax.
NOTES:Check age policy and if applicable, tick INCLUDE CHILDREN IN PAX BREAKS / INCLUDE INFANTS IN PAXBREAKS. This should be ticked if there's and age policy set up so the system will count children in the room.
If 0-999, no need to tick pax break as children are counted as adults.
Apartment room type but children are FOC in the room however child rate is applicable when availing breakfast (or other extras). Please load as ACCOMMODATION (service category).
