The team may use this procedure opposed to sending an email request out of the system and have to wait a for a reply. By logging into the suppliers portal, they will be able to see live availability and make a booking instantly.
Some portals eg oaks and voyages, will show results for both our contracted rates and Bar rates. The contracted rates are usually first priority. If not available, the team will in most cases make the bookings via our direct siteminder connections etc
Suppliers can also restrict our siteminder connections when there is limited availability. If there is no availability showing, the team may check the supplier log in portals to see if there are any rooms available that may not be visible via our direct connections.
